Description
Brandon’s fitness journey is certainly one that would catch you by surprise. Growing up, he dabbled in some sports but quickly learned that he wasn’t much of an athlete. A huge part of this was due to struggling with obesity his entire childhood, teenage years, and even early adulthood. He just didn’t have the physical fitness required to be successful. The culprit? Nutrition. He had tried and failed diets at an age as young as 10 years old- even resorting to things like “Slimfast” and “Nutrisystem.” This “yo-yo’ing” of weight loss and weight gain caused immense grief and frustration. It wasn’t until 2014, when he was 20 years old, that he stepped into a path that would eventually transform his life.
This time in Brandon’s life was a dark one. He was fresh out of a relationship, heavier than he had ever been, and extremely insecure. Mirrors, reflective surfaces of any kind, and anything involving swimming filled him with absolute dread. Brandon absolutely loathed his appearance. A friend of his reached out and got him to go to their local gym- and at last, a light at the end of the tunnel. It was at this time that Brandon truly fell in love with resistance training.
Working out made him feel better. It was a release- an escape from the morbid dungeon of feelings that he had been encapsulated in. The results were just the sprinkles on top. Brandon was mentored in the basics of nutrition by a friend of his and -whoosh- he was almost unrecognizable. Armed with newfound knowledge, passion, and desire to learn more, his journey eventually led to the desire of becoming a bodybuilder.
Two years after starting his journey, Brandon began working with one of the top IFBB Bodybuilding Coaches in the world- Justin Miller (@astrongspirit). By this time, Brandon had acquired a vast amount of knowledge through studies and experience- even getting certified and eventually becoming a Master Trainer at his home gym. Through the tutelage of Justin, he realized he had quite a lot more to learn. Brandon’s relationship with Justin eventually led him to compete in his first bodybuilding show in 2018 where he became Nationally Qualified in the Classic Physique Division. The taste of the stage would quickly consume him and lead him to want to become an IFBB Pro.
Over the last couple of years, Brandon has prepared for his National debut by slabbing on tons of muscle in order to ensure his victory. During this time, he has changed the lives of countless athletes by pouring knowledge into them, coaching them through dark times, and bringing the best out of them when they didn’t know it was possible. His goal from day one was to help people love the body they’re in because he understands how painful it is to hate looking in the mirror. Brandon’s war against self-loathing is waged using the most efficient weapons possible- science-based nutrition, workouts tailored to the individual, supplementation that makes sense, and grace– because he too is human.
Expectations of the client
- I expect you’re always honest with me and communicate openly. -I am a coach, not a mindreader. I often want my athletes to succeed more than they themselves do. I care A LOT. If something’s up, I want you to speak up about it so that we can find the best solution together.
- I expect you to trust the process. I have been doing this for quite some time and I pride myself in knowing what I’m doing. I only want to see you WIN. If you have a question, don’t be afraid to ask. If you don’t have questions, get to work.
- I expect you to work hard daily. -Results only come if you work for them each and every single day. Think of me as your personal Fitness GPS. I can tell you exactly what road to take.. but if you don’t follow my directions, you’ll never reach the destination.
- I expect you to PLAN AHEAD. -We are all adults with hectic lives. With that being said, there are 168 hours in a week. If you work 40 hours a week and sleep 8 hours per night (56 hours), you’re left with a remainder of 72 hours. You’re not “too busy,” you just manage time poorly.
- I expect that you take responsibility for yourself. -We don’t find excuses, we find solutions. You’re not my client, you’re my athlete- and athletes work hard to better themselves by overcoming obstacles. Therefore you should be tracking your progress- workouts, macros, water, sleep- everything. Be responsible.
